Job Description

Durock Alfacing International Limited is hiring a Welder for an on-site role in Woodbridge, ON L4L 8A9. The position is permanent and full-time at 40 hours per week, with one vacancy and a start date as soon as possible.

Responsibilities include interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual, semi-automatic and fully automated welding equipment, reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and processes, examining welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, using computer-aided design, operating brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines, fitting, brazing and torch-straightening metal, operating oxygen arc cutting equipment, determining weldability of materials, operating hoisting and lifting equipment, fabricating or repairing metal parts and products using previously set-up welding machines, operating brazing or soldering machines, starting up, shutting down, adjusting and monitoring robotic welding production lines, maintaining and performing minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment, and following safety procedures.

Work Setting and Conditions

On site. Work must be completed at the physical location; there is no option to work remotely. Work site environment is noisy.

Essential Skills

Welding process interpretation, blueprint reading, weld inspection, manual and automated welding equipment operation, flame-cutting, CAD, metal shaping equipment, hoisting and lifting equipment, robotic welding line monitoring, equipment maintenance, and safety procedures.

Additional Skills

Fitting, brazing and torch-straightening metal; oxygen arc cutting; determining weldability of materials; brazing and soldering machine operation.
